The 6 Goofiest Moments From Eagles Opening Night

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA - FEBRUARY 03: A Kansas City Chiefs helmet, the Vince Lombardi Trophy and a Philadelphia Eagles helmet are seen before the NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's Super Bowl Press Conference ahead of Super Bowl LIX at Caesars Superdome on February 03, 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

We are one step closer to Eagles vs Chiefs. Opening Night of the Super Bowl is behind us. The kick-off of the best week in Pro Football. Both teams take the stage, and every person with an NFL Credential descends on the host city to ask players and coaches questions. But usually, it is a pretty silly night. Yes, serious reporters go, but so do clout chasers, influencers, comedians, and more. We learn some things, but we mostly are subjected to a ridiculous night of weird questions and goofy moments.

What were the silliest moments of the night? We counted down the list. If you would rather get actual Football information, we also put together a list of 4 things we actually learned from Opening Night. But if you want a little levity, keep scrolling.

Here Are The 6 Silliest Moments From Eagles Opening Night

Jalen Hurts Has Jokes

One man in attendance went to Jalen Hurts for advice on how to be more handsome. Apparently, his girlfriend finds Hurts more handsome than him. Hurts answer likely stung a bit.

Ouch. Jalen Hurts tends to be quiet and not the most outgoing guy when speaking to the media. But that was cold. Hurts is under the radar funny. He took down Scott Van Pelt earlier in the year too.

Saquon Barkley Takes A Shot At The Giants

Jameis Winston was one of the people roaming around Opening Night. When he stopped by Saquon Barkley’s booth, he asked the Eagles RB who should sign him in free agency. Saquon took the moment to take a dig at his former team.

Saquon has taken subtle shots at his former team ever since he signed with the Eagles. There was the Instagram Ad where he made a reference to John Mara’s comments about having trouble sleeping. His young daughter even took a shot at the Giants shortly after he signed with the Eagles by asking “Does that mean we’re going to win now?”

Now this? Saquon clearly holds a grudge, even if he would never openly say it. Can you blame him? He has mostly spoken with his play on the field by having one of the best RB seasons we have ever seen. Thank you again Giants for letting him come to Philly.

Chad Ochocinco Smooches Nick Sirianni

Nick Sirianni got a bit of a surprise during his media availability. He was answering a question when suddenly someone planted a kiss on the side of his head. The initial shock was only surpassed by the absolute joy on his face when he realized it was none other than Chad Ochocinco smooching him.

Cam Jurgens Doesn’t Know Who TLC Is, But Jeff Stoutland Does

Credit to Jeff Kerr for this. It might not be strictly Football-related, but this is still vital information. Kerr asked Jurgens for his favorite Stoutland quote. His answer was “Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls,” famously sung by 90s Girl Band TLC. Only Jurgens did not know that. He had no clue about the song Waterfalls. But apparently Stoutland does.

What other female groups is Stoutland quoting? Did he also tell them to “Push It, Push It Real Good.” or to “Make it last forever, friendship never ends?” He could get away with all of those quotes, at least with Cam Jurgens.

Jordan Mailata Makes A Squidward Reference

If you were not watching Fox Sports coverage of the night, you might have missed this one. Cooper Manning, dressed up in Marching Band gear, was interviewing Jordan Mailata, and somehow it came up that Cooper used to play the clarinet.

Mailata quickly pivoted by saying, “Do you know who else played the clarinet? Squidward.”

I did not have Mailata making Spongebob references on my Opening Night Bingo card. But Spongebob was a worldwide sensation, and Mailata is at the right age to have grown up on it. Pair that with Cooper wearing Marching Band gear, of course that is where Mailata’s mind went.

Jalen Hurts Does Not Call It The Tush Push

At one point, Guillermo from Jimmy Kimmell Live yelled at Hurts, “Why do you call it the tush push.” It turns out, that is not what Hurts calls it.

One, it is very obvious why they call it the Tush Push. Because The QBs tush is being pushed. So that is a weak question by the Kimmels Late Night Side Kick. But this adds a new wrinkle to the Tush Push vs Brotherly Shove debate. Hurts doesn’t need any nickname for the most successful play in the league.
