As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to take on the Kansas City Chiefs for their Super Bowl LIX matchup on Sunday, Feb. 9, the Hilton New Orleans Riverside has been designated the team’s hotel for the big game. The hotel is only a mile from where the Super Bowl will take place inside the Caesars Superdome.
The four-star Hilton hotel offers New Orelans’ largest accommodations with approximately 1,700 rooms and 29 floors. The facility also has two pools and a 24-hour concierge service, and it connects to the city’s convention center and outlet mall.
While the hotel offers many standout amenities, the year-round tennis court — the only air-conditioned tennis court in New Orleans — will likely be a big perk for the Eagles, who may use it for a workout.
The Hilton New Orleans Riverside also delivers plenty of top-tier health and fitness amenities that players will most likely take advantage of during their stay in New Orleans, reported the Daily Mail. They include a pickleball and squash court, a Pilates studio, a spin studio, and a full weight room.
Seven restaurants and bars are located throughout the hotel, including Drago’s Seafood, a Cajun restaurant, and Le Croissant, a breakfast cafe. While the hotel is not in the city’s tourist-frequented French Quarter, it is within walking distance from Jackson Square, the Aquarium of the Americas, and the National World War II Museum.
While Eagles players are not required to stay at the team hotel during their stay in New Orleans, they would be required to pay for and arrange their own transportation while not missing required team activities.
Although increased security is a given in any Super Bowl, this year’s game in New Orleans will feature even more heightened security measures. This re-evaluation of security follows the deadly New Year’s Day truck attack on Bourbon Street in the city’s French Quarter that killed 14 people and injured dozens.
