Sorry, ladies … Saquon Barkley proposed! He is officially off the market.

The Philadelphia Eagles running back announced his engagement with his longtime girlfriend Anna Congdon to PEOPLE on Sunday, Feb. 2.

“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have so in my career without the help of her,” Barkley, 27, told PEOPLE. “She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life. There’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”

Barkley and Congdon met at Penn State University and have dated since 2017. They welcomed their firstborn daughter, Jada, in April 2018 and their second child, son Saquon Jr., in September 2022.

Barkley’s engagement isn’t the only notable highlight of the month. His Super Bowl LIX appearance also happens to be on his 28th birthday. In the days leading up to the big game, Barkley told PEOPLE he’s in “Super Bowl mode” and is focused on defeating the Kansas City Chiefs.

“The best birthday gift you can have is playing in the Super Bowl, and the only thing better than that is winning the Super Bowl on your birthday,” he said. “So plans before or after…I really don’t have any idea or any game plan at all. I’m really just focusing on going out there and playing this game and trying to continue to play at a high level.”
