Former Eagles players Jason Kelce and Brent Celek served drinks at McGillin’s Olde Ale House while fans celebrated Philly‘s Super Bowl LIX win on February 14, 2025.
“They just walk in. They randomly walked in here… They went behind the bar and the crowd went crazy,” bar co-owner Chris Mullins, Sr. told CBS News.
The two NFL stars hung out in the kitchen, chatting with staff. This down-to-earth move showed why locals consider Jason Kelce a true Philadelphian at heart, with Mullins noting, “He’s the man of the people.”
McGillin’s walls echo memories of Eagles players singing karaoke with teammates.
Since 1860, McGillin’s has been Philly’s oldest operating pub. Not even the Civil War or Prohibition could close its doors – during the dry years, it disguised itself as a food shop, secretly serving drinks in an upstairs “tea room.”
In 1958, brothers Henry Spaniak and Joe Shepaniak bought the bar. Mullins took over in 1993, keeping its rich traditions alive.
