AJ Brown accomplished what every NFL player dreams of on Sunday, winning a Super Bowl. Scoring a TD in the game likely made it even sweeter. But his biggest win of the week may have come later. One of the 1st things he did when coming back to Philly, was keeping his promise to a young boy who was injured by falling debris in the NE plane crash.
You might have already heard the story of Andre Howard, the 10-year-old who was injured protecting his sister. He was struck by a piece of metal and had to undergo emergency brain surgery. When Andre woke up from brain surgery his first two questions were if his sister was okay, and then if he missed the Eagles winning the Super Bowl.

AJ Brown was already in New Orleans when he learned of Andre’s story. But moved by the young boy’s heroism, and by his love for the Eagles, Brown made Andre a promise.
Speedy recovery!

You are a Hero young man!
Iām going to come see you when I get back. Hopefully with some hardware. Playing for you on Sunday my man šŖš¾š«¶š½ https://t.co/pUtf2Zsoh2
AJ kept the first part of his promise on Sunday when he won the Super Bowl and earned the hardware he was referring to, i.e. the Lombardi Trophy. When the Eagles finally got back to Philly, Brown kept his other promise.
Andre’s mom posted on her Facebook, letting the world know that AJ visited Andrew in the hospital, and brought that hardware with him just like he promised.
“Dear A.J. Brown,
Thank you. Thank you for being a man of your word. By great surprise on this day my son was beyond grateful to meet you. Caught us all by surprise. For someone (“Andre”) my son who usually talk so much, you had him smiling from ear to ear and mute. I felt his heart pounding through his chest. The amount of love and support you gave being so patience and calling Saquon Barkley for him was beyond appreciated. Thank you for everything and bring that WIN home for “TRE” the world’s greatest SUPERHERO. From my family to yours I so humbly want to say thank you and we love you and hope and want nothing but the best for yours!

AJ Brown for some reason took heat recently when he said the Super Bowl win didn’t make him content, and that he was ready to get back to work. Some took that to mean he wasn’t happy because his numbers were not good enough. Brown himself pointed out the hypocrisy that no one ever got mad when Tom Brady told people that his favorite ring was the next one.
There is no doubting that AJ Brown is a different type of dude. All WRs are. It comes with the position. The guy literally reads books on the sideline. But this is the type of story that proves he is a fantastic person and not just a fantastic player. We have seen players come through Philly who just treat it like a place to play, as opposed to becoming a part of the community. But that is not how Brown does things.
The Eagles are lucky to have AJ Brown. Not just because he is one of the best WRs in the league, but also because he is one of the best dudes in the league. Brown going out of his way to make 1 kid happy proves how good he is. While there is no doubt that Andre is the biggest hero here, AJ Brown proved he is a hero too.
