While on the TODAY show, Bradley Cooper shocked eight-year-old Declan LeBaron by giving him tickets to the NFL championship game on February 9. The young Philly fan, who battles systemic juvenile arthritis, was overjoyed.
LeBaron made headlines after his heartwarming gesture went viral. When offered a choice between $1,000 or an Eagles mascot doll during a social media challenge, he took the money – then gave it away to people shopping at a Dollar Tree store.
“You’re going to the Super Bowl, baby! Super Bowl! Let’s go!” said Cooper to NBC Philadelphia.
The NFL came through with tickets for LeBaron, who turns nine just one day before the game. Even after spending 17 different times in the hospital due to his condition, he keeps smiling.
A talk in class led to the boy’s kind act. “My teacher talked about paying it forward,” LeBaron said. His decision amazed TikTok creator MDMotivator, Zachery Dereniowski, who met him at the store.
After his TikTok went viral, he got tickets to watch Philly play Washington in the NFC championship. Before kickoff, NFL players Saquon Barkley and LeSean McCoy met him on the field.
His mom Jillian beamed as she watched her son take a break from his health struggles. The magical day let them “live in the moment and enjoy his fairy tale and dream come true.”
The movie star wouldn’t make any big predictions about who’d win the game. “Oh no, let’s just take it easy,” Cooper said, showing typical Eagles fan caution.
Cooper, who played a die-hard Philly fan in “Silver Linings Playbook,” will watch Sunday’s game from team owner Jeffrey Lurie’s box.
